Brethren:
It seems like we are kicking the New Year off right. Already had one EA degree, so let's hope that it is an indication of things to come in the next months. Masonry is slowly making a comeback, but more so in Harlan County. Seems like every lodge in the county is having some type of degree work. We need to get the membership up in our lodges, especially with the younger generation; they are our future. There are many fine, young men out there that needs Masonry, but more importantly, Masonry needs them. Let's get out there and let ourselves be seen with the good works that we do. If we keep our light under a basket, it is only going to hurt the fraternity. The principles of Masonry weren't meant to be secret, only the ways we identify one another. Keep that in mind the next time a person asks you about it. Tell them what it has done for you...that should be no secret because it should reflect upon your countenance and in all your outward actions.
Fraternally,
W.
